Easy Smoked Mackerel Pate (Keto)

Smoked Mackerel Pate Keto

“Super easy and deliciously creamy – this easy smoked mackerel pate is an excellent way to increase your intake of Omega-3. I based the macros on a 50g (1.8oz) serving, which is a very generous amount spread over two large crackers, making it perfect to put out for the family as a snack. It kept well (covered) in the fridge for 3 days, and we enjoyed it over my Keto Mixed Seed Crackers, as pictured (cracker’s macros not included). If you have any smoked mackerel to spare, throw it in a lovely fresh salad like I did here. ” – Monya

Smoked mackerel pate offers a wealth of benefits for those following a keto diet. Firstly, smoked mackerel is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which promote heart health and reduce inflammation. The richness of this fish adds depth of flavour to the pate. Secondly, cream cheese provides a creamy texture and adds healthy fats, while yogurt adds a tangy twist and a boost of probiotics, supporting gut health.

To brighten the flavour, I like to add fresh lemon juice and finely grated zest for a refreshing citrusy note. The lemon’s acidity also helps balance the richness of the fish and cream cheese.

Whether enjoyed on crisp cucumber slices, keto crackers, or as a filling in lettuce wraps, this smoked mackerel pate is a delectable addition to your keto menu, offering a satisfying and nutritious option for a healthy lifestyle.

It is important to note that to maintain ketosis, it’s essential to track carbohydrate intake and ensure it aligns with your daily macro goals.
