Roasted Radishes (Keto)

Roasted Radishes Keto

“This is a super easy way to enhance the flavour of roasted radishes without using any dairy, but still achieving a cheesy flavour! Ordinarily I would use grated Parmesan, but here I used nutritional yeast flakes (very popular with vegetarians because Parmesan uses animal rennet) which is an excellent alternative! This simple, quick recipe is a great way to enjoy the under-celebrated radish (which contains vitamin C, folate and riboflavin).” – Monya

More on Roasted Radishes…

Roasting radishes in nutritional yeast flakes is a fantastic option for those following a dairy-free, keto diet. Radishes are low in carbohydrates and high in fibre, making them an excellent choice for maintaining ketosis. By adding nutritional yeast flakes to the mix, you not only enhance the flavour but also provide additional nutrients.

Nutritional yeast flakes are a dairy-free alternative to traditional cheese, packed with essential vitamins and minerals. They are an excellent source of B vitamins, including B12, which is often lacking in a dairy-free diet. Moreover, they are rich in protein, making them a great option for those looking to increase their protein intake while following a keto lifestyle.

When combined with radishes, the nutritional yeast flakes create a delightful and savoury dish. The radishes develop a slightly crispy texture when roasted, while the yeast flakes add a cheesy, umami flavour.

Radishes also contribute to digestion and promote a healthy gut, while the nutritional yeast flakes provide essential nutrients. This vegetable side dish is an excellent choice that will leave you feeling satisfied and nourished.

It is important to note that to maintain ketosis, it’s essential to track carbohydrate intake and ensure it aligns with your daily macro goals. Consulting with a healthcare professional is advised before making significant dietary changes.
