“I love this creamy red cabbage bake! Not only is the flavour of baked cream so intoxicating, but different vegetables will offer varying textures. I especially like how red cabbage never ‘completely’ softens, so it offers some texture here. Remember, as with all my veg side dish ideas – be sure to enjoy it with a cut of meat or fish so you get your essential protein in. I always garnish my dishes with herbs I have at hand. This not only makes your presentation prettier, but it adds a fresh flavour dimension. With this recipe, you can use parsley or chives but I actually had wild rocket in the fridge which I chopped up. Rocket has a slightly peppery flavour, so this was a nice touch.” – Monya

“Cauliflower in garlic browned butter is a great vegetable side dish. In this easy recipe, I simply melt garlic browned butter over cooked cauliflower. It is delicious served with grilled fish, chicken or meat.” – Monya

“This is a delicious twist to a keto cauliflower bake. I infuse warm cream with fresh rosemary and smashed garlic. The flavoured cream is poured over cooked cauliflower, then baked in the oven. It is superb at the side of your next Sunday roast!” – Monya

“This is a super easy way to enhance the flavour of roasted radishes without using any dairy, but still achieving a cheesy flavour! Ordinarily I would use grated Parmesan, but here I used nutritional yeast flakes (very popular with vegetarians because Parmesan uses animal rennet) which is an excellent alternative! This simple, quick recipe is a great way to enjoy the under-celebrated radish (which contains vitamin C, folate and riboflavin).” – Monya

“Like most of you, I have made cauliflower rice, cauliflower mash and cauliflower couscous (just run a search on this site if you want to see those recipes). I love them all and make all three regularly. Here, I wanted to play around with the flavours of the mash I make, but include a little texture. So I pretty much used the best cooking methods to achieve exactly that – and now this version is my favourite! I had no idea what to title it, but “creamy cauliflower rice” seemed to be the most accurate description.” – Monya

“We always have broccoli, cauliflower and double cream in the fridge. I have played around with so many different ways to use them up. Here, I wanted the beautiful, unique flavour Gruyere cheese to feature because I its flavour! I also added a pinch of ground paprika to give a slightly different flavour dimension. Whip this out at your next Sunday roast, your family will love the rich decadence!” – Monya

“I grew up in South Africa and a mandatory ‘potato bake’ was the highlight of any braai. After going keto in early 2018, not being able to tuck into one was the only thing that stung a little. Then I discovered how low in carbs celeriac was! So, I adapted the recipe I used to do for a potato bake, but used celeriac instead! UPDATE: I have taken this recipe off this blog because I worked hard to bring you a new-and-improved version that now features in my cookbook Keto Kitchen.” – Monya
